Those who suffer from depression, anxiety, substance use disorders, and other problems can struggle for years, inadvertently falling back into the same patterns again and again. Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) is an 8-session, evidence-based program originally designed to prevent relapse of depression, and has been shown to be effective for a wide range of presenting issues.

In this one-hour seminar, Dr. Richard Sears will give an overview of MBCT, the key elements for preventing future relapses of depression, anxiety, and other issues, and teach participants a 3-minute mindfulness practice.

Learning objectives:

1. Describe how mindfulness can be used to prevent relapses of depression, anxiety, and other issues.

2. Identify the key elements of a relapse prevention plan.
