A deeply restorative professional learning experience designed to help clinicians reconnect with meaning, values, and sustainable practice.

When Helping Others Starts to Exhaust You

Mental health clinicians spend their careers holding space for others. Over time, the emotional weight of that work can quietly accumulate. Long hours, complex cases, administrative pressure, and the expectation to keep showing up fully present day after day can slowly erode energy and meaning.

ACT for Burnout in Iceland is being designed as a powerful opportunity to step away from the pace of daily practice and reconnect with the values and perspective that originally drew you to this field.

A Training Experience — Not Just a Conference

Most professional trainings happen in windowless conference rooms. This program is being created differently.

ACT for Burnout in Iceland is designed as a professional learning experience in an extraordinary environment where clinicians can step outside their normal routines and explore new perspectives.

Meet the Presenter

Dr. Richard Sears is internationally recognized for his work in mindfulness‑based interventions and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Known for his engaging and accessible teaching style, he helps clinicians translate complex psychological concepts into practical tools for real‑world practice.

Why Iceland

Why Travel With Counseling Services of Long Island & SimplyPenny

Counseling Services of Long Island has spent decades creating continuing education programs designed by clinicians, for clinicians, with a focus on meaningful learning that translates directly into real-world practice. SimplyPenny brings that same philosophy into the travel experience—curating small, thoughtfully designed journeys that combine professional growth with extraordinary destinations. Together, these two organizations create programs that go beyond traditional conferences: high-quality clinical training delivered in inspiring locations, supported by careful planning, personal attention, and a commitment to creating experiences that are both professionally valuable and personally meaningful.

Continuing Education Credits

Participants are expected to be eligible for 12 Continuing Education Credits through ACE, APA, NBCC, NYSED, and NY‑OASAS. Full CE approval details will be announced when registration opens.

A Limited Cohort Experience

This program is intentionally designed as a limited cohort training rather than a large conference. A smaller group allows deeper engagement with the material, more meaningful discussion, and greater opportunity for clinical application.

Is This Experience Right for You?

  • Mental health clinicians experiencing fatigue or burnout

  • Professionals wanting practical ACT tools for clinical work

  • Clinicians seeking perspective and renewal

  • Professionals who value meaningful learning environments

The Iceland Experience

Participants may have opportunities to enjoy geothermal hot springs, dramatic waterfalls, volcanic landscapes, and the possibility of seeing the Northern Lights. These moments often become just as memorable as the training itself.

Investment & Early Access

Programs combining high‑level professional training with international destinations often fill quickly. Final pricing will be announced when registration opens.

Those on the priority interest list will receive early access to registration, early‑announcement pricing opportunities, and program updates as details are finalized.

The Work We Do Matters

Mental health clinicians hold an extraordinary role in the lives of others. Day after day, people bring their most painful experiences into the therapy room. Over years and decades of practice, the work becomes deeply meaningful—but also heavy.

Burnout rarely happens because clinicians stop caring. More often it happens because they care deeply for so long.

This experience is being created as a space to reconnect with what matters most in your work and in your life.
